Preschool Tips for Residents of Coconut Grove, Coral Gables, Pinecrest FL, and South Miami

At The Margaux Early Childhood School at Temple Judea, we’re pretty strict when it come to hygiene.  We ask every child to wash their hands when they first arrive for the day, after playing or using the bathroom and before eating. We also sanitize all the toys, desks and chairs every night. It may seem like a lot of work but it’s part of our standards. We do our best to keep our preschool clean and healthy for the children of Coconut Grove, Coral Gables, Pinecrest FL, and South Miami. However, preschoolers are still preschoolers. And slow exposure to a few germs and bugs is not a bad thing.

Research has shown that children develop stronger immune systems after attending preschool. All the little sniffles are a reaction to being exposed early and the body building the immune defense. This same research shows that the bodies of children that are not exposed to immune system-building germs actually end up overacting later.

Also, children attending preschool are less likely to get sick in grade school where they could miss out on important school lessons. Apparently, getting the sniffles in preschool helps build the immune system for later years. And, it’s these later years when missing school can be a bigger deal due the concentrated school work.

We promise to always do our best to keep your child in a safe environment. We insist sick children stay home 24 hours after a fever has gone away and teach children good practices in hygiene. But know that when they do encounter some germs, it actually can be a good thing.
