Frank Family Education Center

Our Frank Family Education Center was unveiled in 2016 and will be a house of learning shared for generations.

The center is the perfect environment to honor our spiritual selves, celebrate learning and set the stage for a fulfilling life. Classrooms and outdoor spaces enhance children’s natural curiosity and foster exploration and discovery.

This is where children will learn to love learning.

  • Classrooms are designed to support children’s natural curiosities and competencies
  • Spaces enable extended projects and explorations
  • Outdoor environments built for physical, social-emotional, intellectual, and spiritual development

The Frank Family Education Center was made possible thanks to Building on Tradition, the campaign to build an educational facility at Temple Judea.

Mary and Howard Frank, who have been members of Temple Judea since 1999, joined Building on Tradition in its earliest stages as campaign co-chairs and contributors. In 2014, Howard and Mary were Temple Judea’s Pillar of Judah honorees in recognition of their commitment to enriching Temple Judea and the entire South Florida Community.

Howard Frank, who has lived in Miami for more than 40 years, retired as the Vice Chairman and Chief Operating Officer of Carnival Corporation in 2013. He currently serves as a Senior Advisor to the Chairman and CEO of Carnival.

Howard recently served on Temple Judea’s Board of Trustees. He is the former Chairman of the Board of the New World Symphony and continues to serve on their board.

Mary Frank is an art historian who specializes in the art of Renaissance Venice. She was a longtime trustee of the Miami Art Museum and served as its president from 2006-2008. Mary is a trustee of the American Academy in Rome, the Peggy Guggenheim Collection in Venice and Save Venice, which raises funds to restore art and architecture in Venice.

The Franks have two children: Peter, who lives in Manhattan, and Jocelyn, who lives here in Miami with her husband Eric Woolworth and their children Jack and Cassidy.  Jack became a Bar Mitzvah at Temple Judea in 2010, while Cassidy became a Bat Mitzvah in 2014 and regularly participated in JTY, Jr. as a middle school student.

“It is important to our entire family to be able to dedicate our time and energy to help Temple Judea educate our youth and ensure the continuation of all that we as Jews hold dear both here and in Israel,” Howard Frank said.

The Frank’s commitment and contribution to the success of our Building on Tradition campaign shows their enduring dedication to educating the next generation of Jewish children. Temple Judea is proud and grateful to have them as members of our sacred community.
