Coronavirus Update

Dear Temple Judea Members and Margaux School Families,

We wanted to provide an update on the status of our campus operations.

Over the past number of weeks, we have continued to monitor the recommendations being provided by health and government officials. In consultation with our Pandemic Planning Task Force, we have decided to extend the suspension of all in-person programs, classes, and gatherings to May 1, 2020. This includes worship services, Margaux School classes, J-PLEx in-person classes, and adult education.

We will continuously reassess our ability to provide in-person and virtual experiences, and will communicate with congregants and families as decisions are made.

Over the last few weeks, we have been inspired by the ways in which you have helped us maintain our kehillah kedoshah – our sacred community. You’ve tuned into Shabbat and Havdalah services via Zoom and Facebook, you’ve video chatted with your child’s Margaux School teacher, your children have engaged in virtual J-PLEx and you’ve studied torah online as a part of our adult education classes. We know that the experience is not the same as being physically together, but we hope you take comfort in knowing that your Temple Judea community is always here for you.

Jewish life has existed, endured, and even thrived through incredibly difficult times. This is no exception. Through innovation, creativity, and ingenuity, we at Temple Judea are responding to the disruptive challenge of this time with connection and community. The hope that has sustained the Jewish people through millenia will continue to sustain us now.

We are here to support each other through ups and downs – and through the chaos that is currently in the world around us. Members of the Board of Trustees have been and will continue to contact each of you over the course of the next few weeks to check in, and we encourage you to reach out to us if you need anything.

Sincerely,
Rabbi Judith L. Siegal
